Established in 2009, C I Engineering Solutions began as a lighting design and energy management resource that specialized in engineered lighting designs, product distribution and energy solutions. In 2018, C I Electrical was established to provide a qualified and experienced team to cover all electrical installation, repair and maintenance requirements. In 2019 we added our engineering department to be able to provide sealed drawings; MEP & Architectural.

We’ve completed hundreds of large-scale projects ranging from hospitals, corporations, and dealerships, to stadiums and large multi-dwelling facilities. Today, we offer multiple solutions for our clients with our engineering, lighting design, distribution of product, and electrical installation capabilities.


C I Engineering Solutions mission is to provide our customers with energy management solutions that are cost conscious and environmentally responsible. We understand and appreciate the challenges companies encounter sifting through the overload of LED Lighting and Sensor misinformation that floods the market today. Brian Carpenter attended High School at Crestwood in Dearborn Heights, MI before going on to study electrical engineering at Oakland Community College, MI and graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Oakland University, MI. Brian worked as an electrical engineer until just like many others he found himself out of a job in the big economic crash that began in 2006. Presented with trying to figure out how he would take care of his family, he decided in March of 2009 to start C I Engineering Solutions.

On a personal note, Brian is married to his wife Kelly and has one daughter, Paige and two sons, Wes and Mitchell. He is a very proud grandfather to Aiden, Millie & Tryus.

He coached his son’s hockey team from 1991 – 2003. He’s an avid golfer, and a Member of the Michigan Minority Supplier’s Council.
